Migration

Moving your store to BlueprintE

We handle the migration process for you, moving your existing store onto BlueprintE with as little disruption as possible.

Our goal is simple: keep your business operational, minimise downtime, avoid unnecessary changes, and make the transition feel calm and manageable with minimal disruption.

Your domain name, email accounts, customer data and website content remain yours throughout the process. In most cases, your domain and email services can stay exactly where they are today.

What happens during migration?

  1. 1
Initial compatibility checkWe review your current website to confirm BlueprintE is the right fit for your business.
  2. 2
PlanningWe discuss your current setup, any functionality you rely on, and anything you would like improved. We also ask you to create the two accounts needed to run your platform. This keeps ownership where it belongs — with your business.
  3. 3
Build & migrationYour new store is built and migrated onto BlueprintE in a completely separate environment while your current store continues trading as normal.
  4. 4
TestingProducts, checkout flow, functionality, integrations and security are checked before launch.
  5. 5
Go liveOnce approved, we take a final snapshot of any new products, customers and orders created since the migration began. Your new store is then switched live during quiet trading hours and thoroughly tested before sign-off.

Smaller stores can often be migrated relatively quickly. Larger or more customised websites naturally take longer. After reviewing your website, we will give you a realistic timeframe before any work begins. No pressure. No obligation. Just a straightforward assessment.

How long do migrations take?

Migration generally takes around 10 working days for an average size site. Every business is different though, and we will give you a realistic timeframe after reviewing your current website and requirements.

What we may need from you

Initial assessment

To assess whether BlueprintE is a good fit for your business, we'll usually need access to your existing website.

If you decide to migrate

We will always explain why access is needed, what it will be used for, and whether it is temporary or permanent.

Need help creating your GitHub and Google accounts? No problem. We'll guide you through the process, which usually takes just a couple of minutes.

How BlueprintE is Structured

Built for resilience and recovery

BlueprintE is designed to reduce operational fragility. Your website is structured so there is no single point of failure — multiple systems work together to ensure your store remains recoverable, maintainable and stable.

Infrastructure includes technologies and services such as Git, Sliplane, AWS, Cloudflare, Backblaze B2, and local backups. This structure allows for fast recovery, reliable backups, simplified deployment, isolated environments, and reduced downtime risk.

The goal is not to create complexity. The goal is to reduce stress when problems occur.

Containers

Your store in its own environment

Your website runs inside its own isolated container environment. In simple terms, this means your entire website is packaged together in a portable and recoverable way — providing cleaner deployments, better isolation, easier recovery, and simplified maintenance.

Most importantly, it means your website is not tightly locked into a proprietary system. You own your website and can leave with it at any time.

Why is this important? Because containerisation allows your website to be redeployed quickly and consistently if infrastructure problems occur, reducing downtime and simplifying recovery.

New Functionality

Adding new features

If you need additional functionality added to your website, we can usually develop this directly into BlueprintE. Additional functionality starts from £150 depending on complexity.

Because we built the platform ourselves, development is often significantly faster and simpler than working through multiple third-party systems, plugins or disconnected services, meaning fewer compatibility problems, cleaner implementation, and lower maintenance overhead.

Once Your Site Is Live

Product uploads handled for you

Uploading and preparing products can become extremely time-consuming for growing businesses. We can handle this process for you.

For larger product runs, we can prepare uploads, imagery, optimisation, structured search preparation, and AI-assisted enhancements — consistently and efficiently, without taking up your evenings or weekends.

AI Media

AI-enhanced product imagery and media

We can create enhanced product imagery and media designed for social content, advertising, modern search discovery, and visual engagement.

The goal is not gimmicks. The goal is to help your customer engage with your products and stop people scrolling past them.

Monitoring & Maintenance

Ongoing monitoring and pre-emptive maintenance

We actively monitor your website to ensure it remains online, functional, and stable — monitoring for outages, failed services, deployment issues, and unusual operational behaviour.

A large amount of website stress comes from maintenance being left too late. BlueprintE is actively maintained to reduce operational problems before they become business problems. This covers updates, infrastructure maintenance, backups, platform improvements, and ongoing stability work.

You should not need to worry about late-night maintenance or update anxiety.

What happens next?

Still here after launch

Migration is not the end of the relationship. Once your website is live, we continue maintaining, monitoring, supporting, and improving it.

We built BlueprintE to provide long-term operational stability for SMEs that simply want the technology handled properly.

We'll assess whether your site is a good fit. From there, we can answer questions and talk through options over email, Teams, or a quick phone call — whenever it suits you.
